Confused about your rights when it comes to deregistering from school?
Unsure whether home education is right for your family?
Worried about what happens to your EHCP if you choose to home educate?
Need clarity on temporary deregistration while waiting for Tribunal or dealing with attendance barriers?
This June join Heidi Mavir, EOTAS expert and founder of EOTAS Matters, for a practical, no-nonsense session designed specifically for parents navigating EHCPs and home education decisions for their neurodivergent children and young people. No jargon. No confusion. Just clear, actionable guidance to help you move forward with confidence.
I learnt so much and the most valuable thing I gained was confidence and a bit more fight in me! It is also easier to learn from a live event (or replay) listening to people talk, than reading information online or in books.
Heidi will cover:
✅ Your rights around deregistering and when/how to do it
✅ When home education might (and might not be) a good idea
✅ What to do if you already have an EHCP and want to home educate
✅ What to expect if you're home educating and want to apply for an EHCP
✅ Temporary deregistration options - giving you and your child a break from the system
✅ Managing barriers to attendance whilst waiting for Tribunal and how that intersect with elective home ed
Why Come Along?
You don’t have to face this alone

Heidi Mavir (SHE/THEY) is an AuDHD public speaker, advocate, Sunday Times Best Selling author and parent to an autistic/adhd teenager. She is also a chronic oversharer and a bit of a bad ass.
A trained Mental Health First Aider and CPD Accredited Trauma-Informed Professional, Heidi uses her knowledge, learning and experience to help other parents and carers to become powerful advocates for their neurodivergent kids. She has built an online community of over 10,000 families, supported by parent professionals and SEN advocates who want to improve opportunities for neurodivergent learners.
Heidi has spoken on stages across the UK, and has been featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian and on BBC National News.
Heidi loves giraffes and will delight you with "giraf-facts" given the opportunity. Her small pleasures are listening to Dolly Parton's music, Yorkshire Tea and her leopard print sofa, which cost more than her car. She wishes all dresses had pockets.
It was really informative in a really easy to understand format which Heidi is amazing at delivering. I've been on this journey for many years and it has finally helped me to see things much clearer. It was also very manageable because of the length and not too overwhelming.
