Feeling Lost When It Comes to Exams for Your EOTAS Student? You're Not Alone.
Worried about how your child will sit their exams outside of school?
Confused about finding an exam centre, securing funding, or arranging access support?
Overwhelmed by the whole process?
We’ve got you.
I learnt so much and the most valuable thing I gained was confidence and a bit more fight in me! It is also easier to learn from a live event (or replay) listening to people talk, than reading information online or in books.
This March join Heidi Mavir, EOTAS expert and founder of EOTAS Matters, for a practical, no-nonsense session designed specifically for parents navigating the exam system for their EOTAS students. No jargon. No confusion. Just clear, actionable guidance to help you move forward with confidence.
Heidi will cover:
✅
Exam Pathways Explained – Understanding different qualification options and what suits your child best
✅
Finding the Right Exam Center – How to locate and approach centers that accept private candidates
✅
Access Arrangements – What support your child is entitled to and how to secure it
✅
Funding & Local Authority Support – Strategies for getting exam costs covered
✅
Essential Paperwork – What documentation you need (and how to get it right)
✅
Timelines & Deadlines – Planning ahead to avoid last-minute stress
✅ Advocacy Skills – How to confidently communicate with exam boards and Local Authorities
Why Come Along?
This is tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s figure it out together.
Who is this for?
Parents of EOTAS students approaching exam age
Anyone unsure about access arrangements
Parents dealing with Local Authority resistance
Those needing help with exam center arrangements
If you've thought "How will my child get their qualifications?" — this session is for you.
Heidi Mavir (SHE/THEY) is an AuDHD public speaker, advocate, Sunday Times Best Selling author and parent to an autistic/adhd teenager. She is also a chronic oversharer and a bit of a bad ass.
A trained Mental Health First Aider and CPD Accredited Trauma-Informed Professional, Heidi uses her knowledge, learning and experience to help other parents and carers to become powerful advocates for their neurodivergent kids. She has built an online community of over 10,000 families, supported by parent professionals and SEN advocates who want to improve opportunities for neurodivergent learners.
Heidi has spoken on stages across the UK, and has been featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian and on BBC National News.
Heidi loves giraffes and will delight you with "giraf-facts" given the opportunity. Her small pleasures are listening to Dolly Parton's music, Yorkshire Tea and her leopard print sofa, which cost more than her car. She wishes all dresses had pockets.
It was really informative in a really easy to understand format which Heidi is amazing at delivering. I've been on this journey for many years and it has finally helped me to see things much clearer. It was also very manageable because of the length and not too overwhelming.
